I AM VERY GLAD YOU'RE HERE.

THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING.

I THINK I CAN SPEAK ON BEHALF OF THE ENTIRE BOARD AND SAY THAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO A GOOD MEETING.

BUT I HAVE A COUPLE OF THINGS I NEED TO COVER VERY QUICKLY BEFORE WE GET GOING, FIRST THE PURPOSE OF TONIGHT'S MEETING IS FOR THE BOARD TO DELIBERATE AND VOTE ON MATTERS LISTED ON THIS AGENDA.

THE DISTRICT HAS COMMITTED TO TREATING EVERYONE HERE WITH RESPECT AND WE EXPECT THE SAME IN RETURN, SO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM OUTBURST OR ANY OTHER FORM OF DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR.

THERE WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT LATER IN THE EVENING.

THIS EVENING SEVEN SPEAKERS HAVE SIGNED UP, SO EACH WILL HAVE THREE MINUTES.

LAST THING, IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE EXIT NEAREST YOU IF THE NEED ARISES, PLEASE HEAD TO THE NEAREST EXIT IN AN ORDERLY MANNER.

THERE'S OBVIOUSLY THE EXIT THROUGH WHICH YOU ENTERED AND THERE'S ONE HERE AT THE END OF THE HALL.

THANK YOU FOR JOINING US AND FOR YOUR INTEREST IN OUR COMMUNITY, OUR KIDS, AND OUR SCHOOLS.

WE WILL NOW BEGIN OUR AGENDA.

THE NEXT ITEM IS THE EISD MISSION STATEMENT.

I WILL READ IT. UNITE, EMPOWER, INSPIRE EVERY PERSON EVERY DAY.

WE UNITE OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS CREATING A SENSE OF BELONGING FOR ALL.

WE EMPOWER STUDENTS PROVIDING AN EXEMPLARY EDUCATION THAT DEVELOPS CURIOSITY, CREATIVITY, AND INDIVIDUAL TALENTS AND WE INSPIRE EACH OTHER TO LEAD PURPOSEFUL LIVES OF EMPATHY, GRATITUDE, AND COMPASSION.

NOW PLEASE JOIN ME IN THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.

>> THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

>> I NEED TO TAKE MY CITIZENSHIP TEST AGAIN, APPARENTLY.

[7.1. Superintendent's Report]

THE FIRST ITEM ON OUR AGENDA IS THE SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT.

TOM, THAT IS YOU PLEASE BEGIN.

>> YEAH, AND UNFORTUNATELY, I MAY START TO SUPERINTENDENT REPORT WITH LEANNA SAD NOTE, SOME OF YOU ARE LISTENING TO THE NEWS TODAY AND I THINK IT'S APPROPRIATE THAT WE HAVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR WHAT'S GOING ON.

[NOISE] IN A SCHOOL SOME POINT IN TIME.

IT'S JUST KILLS ME. IT KEEPS HAPPENING.

I THINK THE LAST THING I HEARD WAS, IT'S I THINK 18 STUDENTS AND THREE ADULTS AND THAT NUMBER MAY GO UP.

IF WE COULD JUST HAVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR ALL THOSE AT THAT SCHOOL.

[NOISE] I APOLOGIZE, I'M GOING TO TRANSITION TO SOME OTHER MORE.

BUT SOME GOOD THINGS HAPPENING IN EANES ISD.

WE HAVE BEEN NAMED FOR THE EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR.

I'M ONE OF THE BEST COMMUNITIES FOR MUSIC EDUCATION.

THIS DESIGNATION GOES TO SCHOOLS WHO FIRST OF ALL, ANSWER A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS ABOUT INSTRUCTIONAL TIME FACILITIES SUPPORT FOR THE MUSIC PROGRAM AND COMMUNITY MUSIC MAKING PROGRAMS AND WE WANT TO CONGRATULATE CARRIE TAYLOR, TEACHERS, STAFF, STUDENTS, PARENTS OF STUDENTS IN BAND PROGRAMS WHO REALLY MAKE THIS AN OUTSTANDING PROGRAM AND I'M A LITTLE BIT OF A MUSICIAN AND WE REALLY HAVE DONE GOOD.

[00:05:04]

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DISTRICT ON BEING NAMED FOR THE EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR, ONE OF THE BEST COMMUNITIES FOR MUTUAL EDUCATION.

I MENTIONED THIS LAST BOARD MEETING BECAUSE IT JUST CAME IN, BUT I WANTED TO OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZE OUR GOLF TEAM THAT WON THE SIXTH STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

THEY FINISHED 11 UNDER PAR FOR THE FIFTH CONSECUTIVE STATE TITLE AND THE PROGRAMS 12TH CHAMPIONSHIP.

WE WANT TO CONGRATULATE THE TEAM AND THE COACHES, COACH NOAKES AND COACH GREG.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM.

WE ALSO HAVE A YOUNG WOMAN WHO IS A GOLFER.

SENIOR ALLEY BLACK FINISHED THIRD IN THE SIXTH A STATE GOLF TOURNAMENT SHOOTING A TWO DAY TOTAL OF 145, WHICH IS JUST ONE OVERPOWER AND JUST TWO SHOTS BEHIND THE LEADER AND SHE WILL PLAY AT VIRGINIA NEXT YEAR, SO CONGRATULATIONS TO HER.

A GROUP THAT HAS BEEN NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART ALL THESE YEARS IS THE TEC VIDEO CREW.

YOU GUYS KNOW THESE KIDS, THEY ARE JUST ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AT WHAT THEY DO AND THEY DO ALL THE FOOTBALL GAMES AMONG OTHER THINGS.

BUT I THINK MOST KNOWN FOR THE FOOTBALL GAMES, BUT THEY WESTLAKE FOOTBALL TELEVISION BROADCASTS CREW HAS WON THE UIL JOURNALISM AWARD FOR THEIR WORK DURING THE 21 CHAP TV BROADCAST SEASON.

THEY WERE RANKED NUMBER ONE AMONG 5A AND 6A CONTEST ENTRIES FOR BROADCAST TECHNICAL DIRECTING AND THIS IS TECHNICAL DIRECTING GRADES, OVERALL PRODUCTION VALUE AND CAMERA WORK, GRAPHICS AND OTHER CRITERIA.

THIS IS PART OF UIL'S INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE PRESS CONFERENCE.

DAVID POOL, JEFF STRANGE ARE ABSOLUTELY REMARKABLE WITH THIS GROUP SO GREAT KIDS.

ANOTHER PROGRAM DEAR TO MY HEART, PITCH NIGHT.

INCUBATOR. WE BROUGHT THIS HERE SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND WE HAD OUR SIXTH ANNUAL PITCH NIGHT THIS PAST THURSDAY, FIVE TEAMS PRESENTED THEIR IDEAS TO A PANEL OF JUDGES.

THE IDEAS INCLUDED BOTH TECHNOLOGY AND SERVICE BASED BUSINESSES.

THREE MAIN PRIZES WERE AWARDED.

THIS IS THE MOST MONEY WE'VE EVER REWARD AND THERE'S A COUPLE OF PEOPLE BACK THERE WHO WERE IN THE INFANCY OF THIS PROGRAM.

I CAN SEE THEM IN THE BACK.

I WON'T CALL THEM OUT BUT 2,000 TO THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD TEAM, WHICH WAS ZOKA ACTIVITY RENTAL, 8,000 DOLLARS TO THE SECOND PLACE TEAM, WHICH WAS QUESTY.

I SHOULD BE FLIPPING PICTURES. I'M SORRY.

THERE'S A QUESTY TEAM AND 15,000 DOLLARS TO FIRST PLACE TEAM, WHICH WAS PHARMACIST AND SO CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THEM.

WE ALSO AWARDED 2,000 DOLLARS.

JASON COOKER INCUBATOR SCHOLARSHIP WENT TO FIVE SENIORS, WHICH WERE BOTH FROM WESTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL AND FROM ELEGANT HIGH SCHOOL.

INCUBATOR PROGRAM WAS FIRST IN WESTLAKE IN TEXAS AND NOW IT'S IN 38 SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN TEXAS.

IT'S IN 35 STATES IN THE UNITED STATES AND FOUR FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

I'VE STARTED IN BARRINGTON, ILLINOIS A LONG TIME AGO WITH A BREAKFAST I HAD WITH A GUY.

SOMETIMES BREAKFAST WITH A GUY WORKS AND SO THAT'S PRETTY IMPRESSIVE.

WE'RE HAPPY FOR THE KIDS.

LAST NIGHT WE HAD A GRADUATION.

THANKS TO EVERYONE, 723 GRADUATES WENT ACROSS THE STAGE AT THE H-E-B CENTER.

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.

I HOPE WE ALL ENJOYED IT.

THE KIDS WERE WONDERFUL.

SHOUT OUT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL STAFF, PARTICULARLY THE ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF, BUT THE TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS AS WELL.

CASEY RYAN, STEVE RAMSEY, AND THEIR FOLKS.

HAVING BEEN A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL, GRADUATION IS QUITE AN UNDERTAKING.

YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH WORK GOES ON.

IT IS AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF WORK TO TRY TO MAKE A FEW HOURS VERY SPECIAL FOR KIDS AND THEN YOU HAVE PROJECT GRADUATION AFTERWARDS AND WE THANK THE PARENTS FOR ALL OF THAT.

IT'S BEEN A LONG NIGHT FOR A FEW OF THE PEOPLE SITTING AT THIS TABLE.

FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, THEY DID LATE NIGHT SHIFTS, BUT I WON'T CALL THEM OUT.

I THINK THAT IS MY REPORT.

THANK YOU. [NOISE]

>> THAT BRINGS US TO THE END OF TOM SUPERINTENDENT REPORT.

[00:10:02]

ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR TOM? NO QUESTIONS AT ALL.

>> THAT WOULD BE GOOD.

>> NO QUESTION AT ALL.

>> QUESTIONS ARE FINE. NO QUESTIONS.

THEY SAID NO QUESTIONS.

>> THE NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA, SINCE WE HAD NO QUESTIONS AT ALL, IS EASY EDUCATION FOUNDATION GRANT REPORT [LAUGHTER] [OVERLAPPING] [APPLAUSE].

>> [INAUDIBLE].

>> SURPRISE.

[LAUGHTER] [MUSIC] [APPLAUSE].

>> JUST SO YOU KNOW, THAT WAS IN THE MOOD, RIGHT GUYS AND THEY'RE NOT GOING TO KNOW THIS OBVIOUSLY WAS GLENN MILLER.

BUT THAT ARRANGEMENTS BY A TEXAN.

DO YOU KNOW THAT? THAT'S FROM SAN MARCOS.

ONE OF THESE DAYS I'LL TELL YOU THAT STORY [LAUGHTER].

CAN YOU GUYS INTRODUCE YOURSELVES, PLEASE, TO THE CROWD, LET'S GIVE THEM A MIC IF THAT'S OKAY. DO YOU MIND? JUST SAY YOUR NAMES AND IF YOU'RE GOING TO COLLEGE, I KNOW WHERE SOME OF YOU OR AT LEAST WHERE ONE OF YOU IS GOING.

BUT IF YOU'RE GOING TO COLLEGE, PLEASE TELL ME, SAY WHAT COLLEGE YOU'RE GOING TO.

THIS IS IAN OLIVER, BY THE WAY, WHO HAS JUST GOTTEN A FULL RIDE TO EASTMAN IN ROCHESTER NEW YORK.

[APPLAUSE].

IAN GO AHEAD.

>> YEAH. I'M IAN OLIVER AND I JUST GRADUATED LAST NIGHT.

>> I TIE IAN HAS PLAYED WITH ME DIFFERENT PLACES AT JAZZ CLUBS AND THE PROSE.

WHEN THEY HEAR HIS SOUND ARE AMAZED.

YOU ARE GOING TO HEAR FROM THIS GUY, AND BY THE WAY, THE SAXOPHONE AND HE HAS IS A CUSTOM-BUILT SAXOPHONE, NOT IN NEW YORK CITY. SORRY IAN.

>> THANK YOU. [LAUGHTER].

>> HELLO. I'M GRAHAM SIMPLER, I PLAY TROMBONE OBVIOUSLY, AND I'M CURRENTLY A SOPHOMORE, GOING TO BE A JUNIOR SOON AND I HAD REALLY FUN TIME PUTTING THIS TOGETHER AND PLAYING WITH ALL OF YOU [APPLAUSE].

>> HE IS GOING TO BE PLAYING WITH ME SOON, I LOVE GOOD TROMBONE PLAYER.

>> MY NAME IS JAKE LEWIS, I PLAY ALTO.

I'M A RISING SENIOR.

THANK YOU ALL FOR PUTTING THIS TOGETHER AND I HOPE WE CAN DO THIS ANOTHER TIME.

[APPLAUSE].

>> I'M COLLO TOLLAR, I PLAY THE TENOR SAX.

I'M A SOPHOMORE RIGHT NOW AND THIS IS JUST A THANK YOU FROM THE WESTLAKE JAZZ ENSEMBLE FOR YOUR SUPPORT THROUGH YOUR YEARS HERE.

THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE].

>> YOU DON'T KNOW, BUT I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO YOU. YOU ARE GOOD.

>> THANK YOU.

>> YOU'RE ALL GOOD. YOU'RE FABULOUS.

THANK YOU, GUYS. I APPRECIATE IT. [APPLAUSE].

>> THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH [APPLAUSE].

THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS [APPLAUSE].

>> THAT'D BE GREAT TO GET A PICTURE WITH THEM, YOU GUYS WANT TO COME BACK HERE, YOU WANT TO DO IT FROM BEHIND? OR HOW DO YOU WANT TO DO IT? WHEREVER YOU WANT TO DO.

YOU GUYS COME ON, GET IN, WHATEVER YOU WANT, I DON'T CARE.

WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU [OVERLAPPING].

[00:15:03]

THEY ARE ALL WELCOME IN [LAUGHTER].

THANK YOU GUYS.

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH [OVERLAPPING].

>> IAN DON'T BE A STRANGER.

WE'RE DONE WITH MY REPORTS [OVERLAPPING].

>> NOT YET, JUST A TINY BIT OF CONTEXT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE ROOM.

THIS IS TOM'S LAST MEETING AS SUPERINTENDENT.

TOM'S TERM SENIOR IN HIS ROLE EXPIRES AT THE END OF THE MONTH AND JEFF WILL BE IN THIS SEAT THE NEXT TIME WE MEET AND SO WE DECIDED TO HAVE JUST A LITTLE BIT OF FUN SAYING THANK YOU TO YOU.

THANK YOU TO YOU.

>> THANK YOU.

>> FOR THE MANY YEARS THAT YOU HAVE SPENT WITH US AND THE MANY YEARS YOU'VE DEVOTED TO PUBLIC EDUCATION.

ANYWAY, ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD AND ON BEHALF OF THE ADMINISTRATION, THANK YOU SO MUCH TOM

>> THANK YOU. IT'S BEEN AN HONOR.

[7.2. Eanes Education Foundation Grant Report]

>> EF TAKE IT AWAY, PLEASE.

>> MY NAME IS DAWN BREYFOGLE AND I AM THE EF BOARD PRESIDENT THIS YEAR.

WE'RE THRILLED WITH THE RESULTS WE'VE RECEIVED IN THIS YEAR'S COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT WITH THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF ES, VARIOUS FUNDRAISERS INCLUDING THE TEACHER FUND, LEADERSHIP SOCIETY, GALA AND HONORED TEACHER, THOSE ARE OUR TEACHER FUND CHAIRS, GRETCHEN MITCHELL AND ELAGAPIRIATO AND THEN OUR GALA CHAIRS, DOCTORS SONJA AND CHAD DIETRICS.

THEN JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW, WE RAISED $2.5 MILLION THIS YEAR OF WHICH 50,000 CAME FROM THE EANES AND DOMINANT AND THIS WILL FEND 55 TEACHING POSITIONS FOR NEXT YEAR FOR THE 2022/ 2023 SCHOOL YEAR, WHICH IS AN INCREASE OF $400,000 IN PREVIOUS YEAR.

[APPLAUSE].

WE RECOGNIZE THAT WE NEED TO HELP RETAIN EXISTING TEACHING STAFF AND EF BOARD HAS APPROVED AN EF BOARD DONATED GIFT OF $225,000 GOING DIRECTLY TO OUR TEACHERS IN THE DISTRICT.

THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE].

[OVERLAPPING].

>> TAKE A PICTURE BUT ALSO KNOW HOW GRATEFUL WE ARE FOR THE HARD WORK THAT YOU HAVE DONE ON BEHALF OF OUR KIDS.

PART OF EANES SECRET SAUCE IS OF COURSE, THE HARD WORK THE DAILY EFFORT PUTS IN EVERY SINGLE YEAR IN SUPPORT OF OUR TEACHERS AND SUPPORT OF OUR KIDS AND THIS RECORD BREAKING YEAR ON THE HIPS OF A PANDEMIC IS CRAZY.

CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU [NOISE].

WHILE WE STILL HAVE OUR EF FOLKS ATTENTION, WE DIDN'T TALK A LOT ABOUT RECEIVING THAT $225,000 THAT THEY WILL GIVE TO OUR STAFF IS A NEW FEATURE OF THEIR GIVING AND I'M VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE CREATIVITY AND FOR YOUR WILLINGNESS TO STEP UP AND HELP US OUT THIS YEAR.

THANK YOU FOR THAT. THE NEXT ITEM ON THE REPORT [LAUGHTER],

[7.3. Monthly Financial Report and Budget Amendment(s) for the Period Ending April 30, 2022 Period Ending April 30, 2022]

COINCIDENTALLY, IS MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORT.

CHRIS [LAUGHTER].

>> CHRIS YOU'RE FOLLOWING [INAUDIBLE]

>> YEAH.

[00:20:01]

>> YOU WANT TO SING THE REPORT? [LAUGHTER]

>> I FEEL LIKE THIS WILL PROBABLY BE LET DOWN.

I'M FILLING IN TONIGHT FOR MARIA, SHE HAD A FAMILY EMERGENCY.

I WANT TO DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE FIRST LINE UP THERE.

WE'RE LOOKING AT CASH AND INVESTMENTS.

IF YOU CAN SEE THAT WE HAVE A BALANCE RIGHT NOW OF ABOUT $210 MILLION INVESTED, NOT ALL OF THAT IS OF COURSE, IN THE GENERAL FUND ONLY ABOUT 100 ONLY.

HUNDRED AND FIFTY MILLION OF IT IS PART OF THE GENERAL FUND.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE YEAR TO YTM MEANS YIELD TO MATURITY, YOU CAN SEE THAT WE'RE CREEPING UP.

IN THIS IS NOT REFLECTED BECAUSE THIS IS THROUGH THE END OF APRIL 30TH.

REMEMBER, THE FED WENT IN WITH THAT 50 BASIS POINT INCREASE IN THE OVERNIGHT RATE IN EARLY MAY.

THAT'S NOT REFLECTING IN THIS.

WHAT WE THOUGHT WE WOULD SEE HAPPEN WAS OUR YIELD TO MATURITY DRIFTING UP, WE ARE SEEING.

ALSO, IF YOU LOOK AT THAT, AGAIN, WE'VE MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS IN THE BUDGET AND THAT'S NOT GOING TO IMPACT FUND BALANCE NEXT MONTH WHEN WE COME TO YOU, WE WILL IMPACT FUND BALANCE AND THAT'S OUR END OF YEAR CLEAN-UP.

THAT'S WHERE WE'RE GOING TO COME IN AND WE'RE GOING TO MOVE MONEY WHERE WE HAVE TO MOVE MONEY TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE NOT EXCEEDING YOUR BUDGETED LEVEL AT ANY FUNCTION LEVEL, JUST A HEADS-UP.

THINGS ARE LOOKING PRETTY GOOD.

IF YOU DIG THROUGH THE REPORT, YOU'LL SEE ON OUR ENTERPRISE FUNDS THAT WE ARE DOING QUITE WELL ON THOSE.

I'M PROBABLY GOING TO MOVE OVER A LITTLE BIT MORE MONEY THAN WHAT I HAD ORIGINALLY THOUGHT I WOULD.

I THINK THAT'S GOING TO PUT US REALLY CLOSE TO A BALANCED BUDGET FOR THIS YEAR.

MAYBE JUST ABOVE, MAYBE JUST BELOW, DEPENDING ON HOW SOME THINGS FALL HERE IN THE LAST SIX WEEKS OF SCHOOL, BUT THIS YEAR IS LOOKING PRETTY GOOD.

>> THANK YOU, CHRIS. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? NO?THANK YOU AGAIN.

[8. OPEN FORUM]

THAT BRINGS US TO THE OPEN FORUM PORTION OF OUR MEETING.

I HAVE SOME REMARKS I NEED TO SHARE.

WE HAVE SEVEN SPEAKERS SIGNED UP THIS EVENING, AND EACH SPEAKER WILL BE AFFORDED THREE MINUTES TO SPEAK.

I'LL CALL YOU FORWARD WHEN IT'S YOUR TURN AND LET YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR TIME IS UP.

ONCE YOU ARE NOTIFIED THAT YOUR TIME IS UP, PLEASE FINISH YOUR SENTENCE AND THEN STOP.

OF COURSE, WE HAVE NO REASON TO SUSPECT THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN, BUT IF ANY SPEAKER REFUSES, WE WILL CONSIDER THIS A DISRUPTION OF THE BOARD MEETING.

WE WILL TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION.

SPECIFIC FACTUAL INFORMATION AND RECITATION OF EXISTING POLICY MAY BE FURNISHED IN RESPONSE TO INQUIRIES, BUT THE BOARD CANNOT DELIBERATE REGARDING ANY SUBJECT THAT IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE AGENDA.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE AUDIO OF THIS OPEN FORUM PORTION OF THE BOARD MEETING IS RECORDED AS PART OF THE RECORDING OF THE ENTIRE BOARD MEETING AND IT'S PUBLISHED ON THE DISTRICT'S WEBSITE WITHOUT ALTERATION.

PERSONS WHO CHOOSE TO SPEAK IN OPEN FORUM ARE CONSENTING TO THE ONLINE PUBLICATION OF THEIR COMMENTS.

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR TAKING THE TIME AND MAKING THE EFFORT TO SHARE YOUR COMMENTS.

WE ARE NOW READY FOR OUR FIRST SPEAKER.

OUR FIRST SPEAKER THIS EVENING IS BRIAN TALLEY.

BRIAN IS GOING TO TALK TO US ABOUT BOARD POLICY. WELCOME, BRIAN.

>> GOOD EVENING.

>> GOOD EVENING.

>> FIRST OF ALL, JUST SAD WITH EVERYBODY ELSE WITH WHAT'S HAPPENED IN UVALDE.

PRAYERS ARE OUT FOR THE PEOPLE IMPACTED BY THAT.

IT'S TERRIBLE, I HAVE NO WORDS.

TO THE VOLUNTEERS AND THE STAFF, THANK YOU FOR THE WORK THAT YOU DO FOR THE DISTRICT.

IT MATTERS AND IMPACTS OUR KIDS AND IT IMPACTS THEIR LIVES.

FOR THE GOOD THINGS THAT YOU'VE DONE, TOM.

I APPRECIATE IT. I THANK YOU FOR THAT.

WITH THAT SAID, NONE OF US ARE PERFECT AND WE DON'T ALL MAKE PERFECT DECISIONS.

WE'VE HAD A TOUGH COUPLE OF YEARS AND SOME DIFFICULT DECISIONS TO MAKE.

THERE HAVE BEEN SOME POLITICAL DECISIONS AND IT'S HAD A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON PEOPLE'S LIVES.

THAT CAN IMPACT THE WAY PEOPLE FEEL, THE WAY PEOPLE THINK, THE WAY PEOPLE LIVE, HOW PEOPLE ACT.

WHAT I'D LIKE TO SEE IS IN THIS NEW DAY AND THIS CHANGE AND OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO FIND A WAY TO COME TOGETHER IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM WHERE PEOPLE OF VARIOUS THOUGHTS, BELIEFS, IDEALS CAN COME TOGETHER.

THEY CAN LIVE AND COOPERATE WITH EACH OTHER, WITH LOVE AND WITH CARE AND HOPEFULLY, IF NOT WITH A LITTLE MUTUAL RESPECT.

WHAT WE HAVE SEEN OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, PARTICULARLY WITH PUBLISHING OF

[00:25:02]

THE PARENTS WHO CHALLENGED BOOKS IN A POLITICAL WAY AND JOHN, YOU HAD MENTIONED THAT YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN INVOLVED.

NOW WE KNOW THROUGH THE STATESMEN THAT THE BOARD WAS INVOLVED.

TRANSPARENCY SINCE THE STATESMAN ARTICLE SAID THAT THAT'S WHY YOU GUYS PUBLISHED THAT LIST, YET YOU WOULDN'T BE TRANSPARENT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT BROUGHT THOSE BOOKS IN THE DISTRICT AND WEREN'T TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHO MADE THAT DECISION.

WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO.

AS FAR AS THE BOOKS THAT CONTINUE TO COME INTO THE DISTRICT LIKE THIS NEW BOOK THAT WE FOUND BLAMER, THAT'S SEXUALLY INAPPROPRIATE.

I WOULD HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU GUYS AND GIRLS TO RECONSIDER THE PROTOCOLS IN BRINGING THESE MATERIALS, BECAUSE OUR KID'S MINDS AND HEARTS ARE IMPACTED BY THOSE MATERIALS.

FOR THOSE PARENTS WHO DIDN'T KNOW WE HAVE EMAIL SHOWING THAT OUR LIBRARIANS, OUR LEAD LIBRARIAN PARTICULARLY HAS BEEN WORKING IN THE CAPACITY TO COORDINATE TO RALLY PARENTS AGAINST THE CONCERN PARENTS WITH THE BOOKS.

IT'S UNFORTUNATE.

LET'S START NEW AND FRESH MOVING INTO THIS NEXT PHASE SO THAT WE CAN ALL LIVE IN HARMONY.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING. THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK.

>> THANK YOU, BRIAN.

OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS KARLA BASHAM.

KARLA IS GOING TO SPEAK ON SPECIFIED TOPIC.

WELCOME, KARLA [NOISE].

>> THANK YOU, JOHN AND BOARD. GOOD EVENING.

TONIGHT IS THE BOARD REVIEWS PROPOSED CHANGES TO ITS CHARGE TO THE DEI ADVISORY COMMITTEE.

IT SHOULD ALSO GIVE CONSIDERATION TO AND OPEN THE COMMITTEE'S MEETINGS TO THE PUBLIC.

FOR NEARLY TWO YEARS THE DISTRICT HAS COORDINATED WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM TWO ORGANIZATIONS, EANES FOR EQUITY AND SHOPS FOR AN ANTI-RACIST EANES, FORMERLY CHAPS FOR BLACK LIVES MATTER, TO HELP DEVELOP AND ADVANCE THE DEI INITIATIVE.

THESE TWO GROUPS HAVE BEEN AFFORDED AMONG OTHER THINGS, UNPRECEDENTED ACCESS TO MANY HIGH-LEVEL DISTRICT MEETINGS RELATED TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DEI INITIATIVE, INCLUDING SEVERAL MEETINGS WITH THE DEI CONSULTANT, DR. MARK GOODEN.

THE DISTRICT HAS PAID DR. GOODEN $3,000 PER MEETING TO MEET WITH THESE TWO GROUPS.

THE DEI ADVISORY COMMITTEES CHARGE STATES THAT COMMITTEE CONSIDERATIONS MAY HAVE ACADEMIC, FINANCIAL, CONTRACTUAL, AND TRANSPORTATION IMPACTS ON STUDENTS, STAFF, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

AS A TAXPAYER-FUNDED PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD APPOINTED COMMITTEE.

IT'S IMPERATIVE THAT THE DEI INITIATIVE AND THIS COMMITTEE BE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY AND OPERATE IN FULL TRANSPARENCY.

THEREFORE, AT A MINIMUM, THE AUDIO OF THE DEI ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETINGS, JUST AS WITH THE EANES STUDENT HEALTH AND SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND THE BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE SHOULD ALSO BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THE NEXT SPEAKER THAT WE HAVE IS RICHARD MCKINSEY.

I DON'T SEE MR. MCKINSEY THIS EVENING.

IF HE SHOWS UP, WE WILL PROVIDE FOR HIM.

FOLLOWING MR. MCKINSEY, WE HAVE ROB HARGETT.

ROB IS GOING TO SPEAK TO US ABOUT TOM LEONARD'S RETIREMENT. WELCOME, ROB.

>> YOUR TIME IS UP. [LAUGHTER]

>> IT WAS UP A LONG TIME AGO.

[LAUGHTER] THANKFULLY.

GOOD EVENING TO THE BOARD.

GOOD EVENING, DR. LEONARD, TO THE DISTRICT LEADERSHIP AND THE TEAM.

IT'S NICE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN.

ANOTHER EXCELLENT YEAR.

CONGRATULATIONS.

YOU GUYS DO A FANTASTIC JOB.

TIME FLIES, I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT TOM'S RETIREMENT, HIS FINAL MEETING TONIGHT.

I KNOW THAT TIME FLIES.

IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY IN THE SPRING OF 2014, WE WERE TALKING TO TOM ABOUT COMING ON BOARD HERE AT EANES.

I VIVIDLY REMEMBER A BREAKFAST WITH ROSS AND TOMS'S WIFE CATHERINE IS HERE TONIGHT HONORING HER WITH HER PRESENCE.

I VIVIDLY REMEMBER A BREAKFAST AT BARTON HILLS COUNTRY CLUB WITH TOM TALKING ABOUT THE TERMS OF HIS EMPLOYMENT AND OUTLINING WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR IN A SUPERINTENDENT.

I VIVIDLY REMEMBER MIKE FROST WHO IS HERE IN THE AUDIENCE TALKING ABOUT HOW A LOT OF THE TIMES HE HAD HIRED PEOPLE IN HIS CORPORATE FUNCTION AND HIRES DIDN'T WORK OUT.

I'M GLAD TO SAY THAT THIS ONE DID.

I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TONIGHT ON THREE FRONTS.

FRONT NUMBER 1 IS THAT THE BOY SCOUTS HAVE A MAXIMUM ABOUT LEAVING A CAMPSITE BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT.

[00:30:04]

I WANT TO THANK DR. LEONARD FOR LEAVING OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT BETTER THAN HE FOUND IT.

HE HAD BIG SHOES TO FILL.

DR. WELLMAN DID A FANTASTIC JOB AS OUR SUPERINTENDENT.

TOM TOOK THAT CHALLENGE ON AND HE LEADS EANES A BETTER PLACE AND FOR THAT, I KNOW THE COMMUNITY IS VERY GRATEFUL.

A SECOND THANK YOU TO TOM.

I WANT TO THANK HIM FOR STAYING ON DURING COVID.

DURING THE RECENT SCHOOL BOARD CAMPAIGN, I WAS AMUSED THAT THE SUGGESTION THAT MAYBE THAT TOM HAD EARLY AND RETIRE, THOSE OF US WHO KNOW TOM WELL, KNOW THAT HE WOULD HAVE LEFT SOONER HAD HE HAD THAT OPPORTUNITY, BUT HE HUNG IN THERE DURING A VERY DIFFICULT TIME AND HE TOOK THE SLINGS AND ARROWS THAT CAME WITH COVID AT TIME OF PERIOD THAT WAS DIFFICULT FOR ALL OF US IN OUR COUNTRY AND IN THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT.

TOM STAYED, TOOK THOSE ARROWS, AND PROVIDED EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP AND WE'RE GRATEFUL FOR THAT.

A THIRD THANK YOU.

YOU BROUGHT US JEFF ARNETT AND FROM BARRINGTON AND JEFF IS GOING TO BE TAKING OVER AS SUPERINTENDENT.

HE TOO HAS A BIG SHOE TO FILL, BUT WE'RE CONFIDENT THAT HE'S GOING TO DO THAT AND WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO HIS LEADERSHIP.

I JUST WANT TO CONCLUDE BY SAYING TO TOM GOD'S SPEED TO YOU AND KELLY AND I WISH YOU WELL AND THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK.

[APPLAUSE]

>> THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS JULIA WEBER, AND JULIA IS GOING TO SAY, THANKS TOM.

>> THIS IS GETTING OLD GUYS.

[LAUGHTER] REALLY.

>> WELCOME, JULIA.

>> THANK YOU. IT'S SO GOOD TO BE HERE, AND BEFORE I GIVE YOU MY THANKS, TOM, I KNOW YOU'D BE THE FIRST TO SAY THAT IT TAKES A VILLAGE AND YOU'RE ONLY ONE OF MANY.

SO I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE BOARD AND THANK YOU TO OUR EANES FAMILY OF STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO ARE HERE REPRESENTING ALL OF US. THANK YOU-ALL.

BUT SOMEONE HAS TO SHEPHERD ALL OF US CATS AND, TOM, THAT WAS YOU.

[LAUGHTER] SO I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE, YOUR CIVILITY, YOUR PERSISTENCE, AND YOUR CREATIVITY.

YOU BROUGHT ALL THOSE THINGS TO OUR DISTRICT AND INTO OUR EANES FAMILY. THANK YOU.

I'M NOT JUST GOING TO TONIGHT LIST YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS OR THE THINGS THAT WE DID TOGETHER THAT WERE GOOD FOR THE DISTRICT.

THERE'S TOO MANY TO ANNOUNCE, BUT I DO INSTEAD WANT TO SAY JUST A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT YOU.

I LIKE THAT YOU'RE DIFFERENT.

YOU'RE NOT FROM AROUND HERE AND [LAUGHTER] YOU TAUGHT US THAT THAT'S OKAY.

IT'S OKAY TO WELCOME SOMEONE NEW TO OUR COMMUNITY AND YOU BROUGHT A LITTLE BIT OF MIDWESTERN SPICE TO OUR TEXAS BARBECUE CUISINE, SO THANK YOU FOR BEING DIFFERENT.

YOU'RE GOING TO LAUGH, BUT I LIKE THAT YOU'RE BALD.

[LAUGHTER] I LIKED DR. WELLMAN TOO, BUT SHE DIDN'T HAVE THAT IN HER BELT AND [LAUGHTER] YOU'RE EASY TO SPOT IN A CROWD AND SOMETIMES THAT WAS NICE.

I LIKE IT THAT YOU WALK THE TALK.

YOU WERE A STUDENT, YOU WERE A TEACHER, YOU WERE A COACH, YOU WERE A PRINCIPAL, YOU DID ALL THOSE JOBS, YOU WORE ALL THOSE HATS, AND I THINK THAT EXPERIENCE GAVE YOU THE PERSPECTIVE THAT REALLY MADE YOUR GOOD LEADERSHIP AND MADE YOU ACCESSIBLE AND RELATABLE TO ALL OF US.

I ALSO WANT TO SAY THAT YOU'RE CREATIVE AND I LIKE THAT.

I AM A BIGGER SUPPORTER OF THE FINE ARTS.

I LIKE THAT YOU ARE CREATIVE AND YOU LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF SHOWMANSHIP, BECAUSE THAT SHOWMANSHIP, I THINK, MAKES YOU ABLE TO CONNECT WITH PEOPLE AND ALSO THROUGH THAT SHOWMANSHIP YOU'VE CREATED OPPORTUNITIES WHERE THE REST OF US CAN CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER.

I'M GLAD YOU BROUGHT THAT TO OUR DISTRICT AND I HOPE IT REMAINS.

OF COURSE I LOVE THAT YOU'RE A MUSICIAN.

I THINK THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF MUSIC CROSSES ALL BOUNDARIES.

THANK YOU FOR REALLY SUPPORTING THAT AND OF COURSE FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORTS OF THE FINE ARTS.

I THINK MORE THAN ANYTHING, I LIKE THAT YOU EXEMPLIFY EVERYTHING THAT WE HAVE STRIVED OR THAT I REMEMBER STRIVING FOR IN OUR DISTRICT, AND I ALWAYS GO BACK TO THE EANES GRADUATE WHEEL OF CHARACTERISTICS THAT WE TRY TO CREATE FOR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS, AND YOU FULFILL ALL OF THOSE, AND IN PARTICULAR, I LIKE THAT YOU ARE A LIFELONG LEARNER.

I SEE YOU CONSTANTLY SEEKING NEW OPPORTUNITIES, NEW WAYS OF LEARNING, AND YOU'RE CURIOUS, AND YOU'RE LOOKING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW, AND BY GOLLY NOW YOU'VE GOT SOME MORE TIME TO DO THAT.

I'M EXCITED FOR ALL THIS TO COME, I'M STILL GOING TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY SPOTTING THE BALD GUY IN THE CROWD WHEN I'M LOOKING FOR THE SUPERINTENDENT [LAUGHTER] AND I WELCOME YOU, JEFF.

TOM, I'LL LOOK FOR YOU IN PARIS.

LASTLY, I MADE A LITTLE BIT OF COMMEMORATIVE ART.

FOR KELLY'S SAKE I KEPT IT IN BLACK AND WHITE IN CASE IT'S IN YOUR LIVING ROOM.

[LAUGHTER] IT'S DONE IN THE STYLE OF LINE ART,

[00:35:02]

WHICH IN ONE STROKE TIES ALL OF THE MASCOTS FOR OUR DISTRICT TOGETHER, WHICH I THINK YOU'VE VERY CLEARLY DONE.

[APPLAUSE] I'LL LEAVE IT SOMEWHERE AND IF EVERYONE WOULD LIKE TO [INAUDIBLE].

>> I'M CHRISTIE BYBEE.

OH MY GOSH, IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE ALL OF YOU.

IT'S AWESOME.

SO TOM, IT WAS AN HONOR TO SERVE WITH YOU.

YOU ARE AN AMAZING LEADER.

YOU BROUGHT NEW AND INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TO THE DISTRICT.

YOU LED AND NAVIGATED US THROUGH A PANDEMIC. THANK YOU.

ON THE BOARD, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE STARTED DOING WAS WE STARTED SHARING HIGHS AND LOWS AND GOOD GARBAGE.

I JUST WANT TO END WITH THAT.

MY HIGH WAS SERVING WITH TOM AND MY LOW WAS LEAVING THE BOARD.

HONESTLY, PEOPLE ASK ME, WERE YOU ALLERGIC ON THE BOARD? I'M NOT, I MISS IT.

IT WAS AN HONOR AND A PRIVILEGE.

SO THE GOOD GARBAGE, I ASK A COUPLE OF THE TRUSTEES HERE WHAT'S GOOD GARBAGE AND THE GOOD GARBAGE IS THAT TOM IS LEAVING AND YOU'VE DONE A GREAT JOB AND WE LOVE YOU AND YOU'VE BEEN SUCCESSFUL, BUT WE HAVE JEFF ARNETT AND YOU ARE A GOOD GARBAGE.

[LAUGHTER] YOU ARE THE SILVER LINING IN ALL OF THIS.

WHEN TOM AND I MET AS I WAS GOING OFF THE BOARD, I WAS VERY EMOTIONAL AND HE SAID TO ME, WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IS YOU WANT TO KNOW THAT YOU'VE LEFT THIS PLACE A BETTER PLACE, AND YOU HAVE LEFT EANES A BETTER PLACE. SO THANK YOU.

>> TOM, I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU.

I CAN REMEMBER WHEN MY HUSBAND BEAU CAME HOME FROM A TRIP FROM CHICAGO THAT I THINK ROB AND MIKE WERE WITH HIM FIRED UP ABOUT SOME SUPERINTENDENT NAMED DR. LEONARD.

[LAUGHTER] YOU CAME DOWN WITH A NEW PERSPECTIVE AND INNOVATION AND WE SO APPRECIATE YOU AND I KNOW I SPEAK FOR HIM TO SAY THANK YOU AND WE'LL MISS YOU AND AS THEY SAY IN NEW ORLEANS, IN YOUR RETIREMENT, [FOREIGN] [LAUGHTER] [APPLAUSE]

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

>> LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL. [LAUGHTER]

>> ALL RIGHT.

OUR LAST SPEAKER IS MR. MIKE FROST.

MIKE IS GOING TO TALK TO US ABOUT TOM AS WELL. WELCOME MIKE.

>> [NOISE] YOU GUYS ARE KILLING IT.

>> YOU BET. YOU BET.

>> HEY EVERYBODY. SO GOOD TO SEE YOU.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND EFFORT AND WORK AND, DR. LEONARD, I REMEMBER THE DAY WE MET LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY, WHICH AT MY AGE THAT'S REALLY SAYING SOMETHING.

I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT I HAD FOR LUNCH.

[LAUGHTER] WHAT I REALLY REMEMBER ABOUT THAT DAY AT AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION, WHEREVER THAT WAS, WAS HOW INSPIRED I WAS WHEN YOU TALKED ABOUT HOW YOU WOULD DEAL WITH THE CHALLENGES OF THE DAY.

THEY WERE DIFFERENT. WE DIDN'T HAVE THIS THING CALLED A BALANCED BUDGET THEN.

I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT THAT'S LIKE.

BUT I WOULD SAY IT'S A LITTLE DIFFERENT TODAY, AND THAT IS THAT IN HINDSIGHT YOU DID ALL THOSE THINGS AND YOU MADE THOSE THINGS HAPPEN AND IT'S GREAT FOR THE DISTRICT, YEAH, BUT I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TOO HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS OF KIDS BECAUSE YOU CHANGED THEIR LIVES.

YOU REALLY DID. YOU HAD AN IMPACT.

A BIG IMPACT AND I SEE THEM.

I HAVE ONE AND THANK YOU.

JOB WELL DONE. [APPLAUSE]

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. [APPLAUSE] HAS MR. MCKINSEY ARRIVED? I DON'T SEE HIM.

AN ABSENT MR. MCKINSEY.

WE WILL CLOSE THIS PORTION OF OUR MEETING, MOVE ON TO THE NEXT AGENDA ITEM,

[9.1. Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan (RIPICS) (RIPICS)]

AND THAT IS PUBLIC COMMENT FOR THE RETURN TO IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION AND COMMUNITY OF SERVICE PLANS.

MOLLY MAY IS GOING TO COME FORWARD AND TALK TO US ABOUT THIS.

>>THANK YOU GUYS FOR COMING, REALLY.

I LOVE YOU TOO.

[LAUGHTER] GO HAVE SOME FUN.

[BACKGROUND] YEAH.

YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WISH, BUT THANK YOU.

SORRY, MOLLY. [LAUGHTER]

>> WELCOME MOLLY.

>> GOT IT. WITH OUR ESSERS FUNDING COMES SOME FEDERAL REGULATIONS AS WE WOULD EXPECT.

ONE OF THOSE IS THAT WE HAVE A RETURN TO IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION AND CONTINUITY OF SERVICES PLAN POSTED ON

[00:40:02]

OUR WEBSITE AND THAT WE REVIEW THIS AND THAT WE OFFER AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC FEEDBACK EVERY SIX MONTHS.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE OUR PLAN POSTED.

AS I SAID, THIS IS A FEDERAL REQUIREMENT AND AS YOU ALL KNOW, TEXAS WENT BACK TO SCHOOL EARLIER THAN SOME OF THE OTHER DISTRICTS AND SO WHILE THIS MAY SEEM TO US LIKE WE'VE BEEN IN-PERSON FOR A REALLY LONG TIME, OTHER DISTRICTS HAVEN'T.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS REQUIREMENT AND WE WILL MEET THIS REQUIREMENT TO MAINTAIN OUR ESSERS FUNDING.

WE HAVE OUR PLAN IN PLACE.

WE WILL REVIEW THE PLAN AND SEEK STAKEHOLDER FEEDBACK EVERY SIX MONTHS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2023.

SO YOU WILL SEE ME A FEW MORE TIMES TALKING ABOUT THE RUBIK'S PLAN AND TONIGHT WE POSTED THAT WE WOULD SOLICIT PUBLIC FEEDBACK IF ANYONE HAD SIGNED UP TO SPEAK AND MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT NO ONE DID SIGN UP TO SPEAK.

THE PLAN IS ON THE WEBSITE AND IF ANYONE WANTS TO REVIEW IT, IT'S THERE AND ANYBODY WHO HAS ANY COMMENTS, BUT WE'RE BACK UP AND RUNNING AND DOING MOST OF THE THINGS THAT WE NEED TO BE DOING.

SO ALL OF THE THINGS WE NEED TO BE DOING, SO THAT'S IT.

>>THANK YOU, MOLLY. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR MOLLY? JAMES.

>> JUST TO BE CLEAR, WE HAVE BEEN BACK IN PERSON SINCE THE STATE ALLOWED US TO REOPEN IN SEPTEMBER 2020, CORRECT?

>> CORRECT.

>> THIS IS JUST A CHECKBOX ON A LEGAL REQUIREMENT FOR THE ESSER FUNDS, BASED ON WHAT YOU JUST SAID?

>> ESSENTIALLY, YES. WE'RE JUST UPDATING.

AS WE'VE GONE ALONG WITH THE MASKING POLICY, THINGS AROUND SANITATION, FOOD SERVICES, THINGS LIKE THAT.

THERE'S JUST A LIST OF THINGS THAT WE NEED THAT ARE REQUIRED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE ADDRESSING AND THE PUBLIC KNOWS HOW WE ARE ADDRESSING THOSE POST RETURN.

>> WE HAVE NO ACTIVE PLANS OR DISCUSSED PLANS OR BACK DRAWER PLANS TO GO REMOTE AT ALL? [OVERLAPPING]

>> NO.

>> WE ARE AN IN-PERSON SCHOOL DISTRICT.

>> WE ARE AN IN-PERSON SCHOOL DISTRICT AND EVERYTHING ON THE WEBSITE IS REALLY JUST WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING.

WHEN I WENT TO REVIEW IT, ONE OF THE THINGS IS ARE YOU FEEDING YOUR CHILDREN? ARE YOU BACK TO DOING THAT? OURS IS, YES, WE ARE DOING THAT. [LAUGHTER]

>> GOOD JOB.

>> A LITTLE BIT OF JUST A CHECKBOX.

>> THANK YOU.
