SO THIS EVENING, WE WANTED TO PUBLICLY ANNOUNCE THAT IN THE INTERIM, UNTIL WE ARE FORMALLY COMMISSIONED BY THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON LAW ENFORCEMENT, WE'RE INTRODUCING MATT GREER AS OUR CHIEF SAFETY OFFICER AND BRANT KELLY AS HIS LIEUTENANT AND OUR SAFETY OFFICER AS WELL.

HE WORKS CLOSELY WITH THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR MISSING AND EXPLOITED CHILDREN AS AN INVESTIGATOR OF CYBER TIPS, AND HE WAS PREVIOUSLY A SENIOR POLICE OFFICER WITH THE AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT'S CRISIS INTERVENTION TEAM, WHERE HE TRAINED HUNDREDS OF OFFICERS ON HOW TO ASSESS, INTERACT AND COMMUNICATE WITH THOSE EXPERIENCING MENTAL HEALTH EPISODES. SO MATT AND BK, WELCOME TO THESE NEW LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.

WE BEGAN A WEEK AGO WITH THE TEXAS SCHOOL COALITION ANNUAL POST LEGISLATIVE WORKSHOP, AND THEN ON WEDNESDAY, WE ALL MOVED DOWN TO SAN ANTONIO, WHERE WE PARTICIPATED IN THE SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE, SPONSORED BY THE TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BOARDS, AND MR. SPRADLEY WANTED TO GIVE YOU AND YOUR FELLOW TRUSTEES AN OPPORTUNITY IF YOU WANT TO REFLECT ON SOME OF THE LEARNINGS FROM THOSE TWO OPPORTUNITIES.
ABSOLUTELY. SO THE JUST REAL QUICK AS AN INTRODUCTION, THE WORKSHOP THAT WE WENT TO AND MOST OF US WENT TO IN ROUND ROCK LAST WEEK WAS IT'S A REQUIREMENT OF THE STATE THAT TRUSTEES ATTEND A SESSION AFTER THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION TO GET A DOWNLOAD AND AN EDUCATION ON ALL THE DIFFERENT BILLS THAT WERE PASSED IMPACTING SCHOOL DISTRICTS, AND THERE ARE VERY MANY, AND SO THAT WORKSHOP WAS LAST TUESDAY IN ROUND ROCK, AND THEN MOST OF THE TRUSTEES HEADED TO SAN ANTONIO ON WEDNESDAY FOR A CONFERENCE AT THE TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BOARDS, THE SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE, AND THIS HAPPENS EVERY YEAR IN THE SUMMER IN JUNE.
ONE SESSION HAPPENS IN SAN ANTONIO, AND THAT'S WHERE SIX TRUSTEES WENT LAST WEEK AND I'M GOING TO THE ONE IN FORT WORTH THIS WEEK.
I WAS UNABLE TO ATTEND THE POST LEGISLATIVE SESSION DUE TO SOME WORK COMMITMENTS, BUT I WILL BE ATTENDING ONE LATER IN THE SUMMER, SO I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT.
SLI WAS REALLY GREAT THIS YEAR.
THIS WAS MY NINTH YEAR TO GO TO SLI.
I DID THINK THAT THIS YEAR WAS PARTICULARLY STRONG.

I THINK PARTICULARLY FOR ME, SOME OF THE SESSIONS I ATTENDED, THERE WAS THERE WAS ONE ON DEVELOPING YOUR OWN POLICE DEPARTMENT, WHICH IS PARTICULARLY RELEVANT TO US, AND IT WAS GRATIFYING TO ME TO HEAR THAT SOME OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS MADE BY AN EXPERT LAW ENFORCEMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WHO SPECIALIZES IN SCHOOL BASED LAW ENFORCEMENT, HER RECOMMENDATIONS VERY MUCH LINED UP WITH WHAT WE PUT IN OUR BOARD POLICY AND THAT MADE ME FEEL SO CONFIDENT THAT WE'RE MOVING IN A POSITIVE DIRECTION.
I DID HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS COME OUT OF IT THAT I KIND OF OFFHAND SHARED WITH JEFF, BUT I'LL PUT THOSE IN WRITING FOR HIM AND HIS TEAM, BUT I THOUGHT THAT WAS PARTICULARLY EXCELLENT.
THERE WERE SOME THINGS ON JUST GOOD GOVERNANCE WHICH WERE GOOD REMINDERS TO HEAR AND ALSO BROUGHT UP SOME GOOD IDEAS FOR ME OF THINGS THAT WE CAN IMPROVE UPON AS A TEAM OF EIGHT AND WORK TOWARDS DOING BETTER SO THAT WE HAVE BETTER OUTCOMES FOR OUR STUDENTS, AND THEN LASTLY, I KNOW THERE WERE A COUPLE OF US THAT ATTENDED ONE ON AI AND CHAT GPT, RIGHT, AND I THINK WHAT STRUCK ME ABOUT THAT ONE WAS THAT NO ONE REALLY HAS ANSWERS YET ON I WENT IN EXPECTING I WANTED SOMEONE TO SAY, OKAY, THIS IS BEST PRACTICE, THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING.
THIS IS A GOOD POLICY AND NOBODY HAS THAT YET.

HOW DO YOU DO IT? WHAT'S THE BEST PRACTICE FOR KIDS AND STAFF? AND SO I REALLY ENJOY THEM, THE SESSIONS AND THEN THE TEXAS SCHOOL COALITION'S LEGISLATIVE UPDATE WAS JUST I MEAN, IT WAS THE BEST TAKE POSSIBLE ON A HORRIBLY INSULTING AND DISAPPOINTING LEGISLATIVE SESSION.

I KNOW WE HAVE SPENT A LOT OF TIME TALKING ABOUT THE READING ACADEMIES AND TALKING ABOUT OUR STAFF AND GOING TO READING ACADEMIES AND WHAT THAT HAS, WHAT THAT IS AND WHAT IT HAS PRODUCED.
THIS SESSION WAS ABOUT QUESTIONING WHETHER OR NOT THE THINGS THAT ARE BEING TAUGHT IN THE READING ACADEMIES ARE ACTUALLY FILTERING BACK THROUGH THE DISTRICTS INTO INSTRUCTION AND CURRICULUM MATERIALS AND ASSESSMENTS AND ARE THEY ALIGNED WITH THE TEKS AND HAS THE WHOLE SYSTEM REALLY BEEN REVISED AS OPPOSED TO JUST BITS AND PIECES OF IT?

SO WE KNOW THAT THE EQUITY TEAM CURRENTLY SHARES RESOURCES, BUT IT MAY NOT BE AS USER FRIENDLY.

ALSO, TEACHERS AND STAFF WANT TO BE FOCUSED ON CREATING A POSITIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR THE CHILDREN, NOT BURDENED WITH THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SAFELY CARRYING A FIREARM IN THE SCHOOL PREVENTING STUDENT ACCESS TO IT, OR, GOD FORBID, USING IT AGAINST AN INTRUDER.
ARMED TEACHERS ARE NEVER ACCEPTABLE REPLACEMENTS FOR TRAINED LAW ENFORCEMENT.
THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS THAT A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER RECEIVES AT A BASIC TRAINING ACADEMY IS 840, AND OFFICERS ARE GENERALLY REQUIRED TO CONTINUE TRAINING REGULARLY THROUGHOUT THEIR CAREERS.
HOWEVER, ARMING TEACHERS COULD STILL COST HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, IF NOT MORE, FOR TRAINING, EQUIPMENT AND INSURANCE, AND IF THERE'S EVER AN ACCIDENT AT A SCHOOL INVOLVING A GUARDIAN OR MARSHAL, THEN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT MIGHT BE LIABLE FOR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
IN CONCLUSION, I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE EANES ISD SHOULD REJECT THE USE OF THE GUARDIAN AND MARSHAL PROGRAMS. ARMING TEACHERS AND STAFF POSES SIGNIFICANT RISKS TO OUR STUDENTS SAFETY AND SACRIFICES THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF OUR EDUCATORS.

SO THAT'S WHAT I'LL REVIEW THIS EVENING WITH YOU ALL.
SO OUR FIRST GRANT IS THE EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT.
YOU CAN SEE OUR TOTAL ESSER FUNDING THAT WE GET, AND THEN YOU CAN SEE HOW THE DIFFERENT PARTS ARE SEPARATED, AND I'LL GO INTO EACH ONE OF THOSE PARTS AND HOW THAT MONEY IS UTILIZED.
THERE'S TWO TYPES OF WAYS YOU CAN USE THIS, AND IN TERMS OF EITHER A SCHOOL WIDE PROGRAM OR TARGETED ASSISTANCE, WE DON'T MEET THE ELIGIBILITY FOR A SCHOOL WIDE PROGRAM, BUT WE DO FOR TARGETED ASSISTANCE CAMPUSES, AND SO THE WAY WE LOOK AT THAT IN EANES IS OVER THE YEARS AND THE WAY WE'VE DECIDED IS WE LOOK AT OUR LOW SES CALCULATION ON EACH CAMPUS.

AND FOR THOSE CAMPUSES WE ALLOCATE ADDITIONAL CAMPUS SUPPORT STAFF FOR THOSE.SO YOU'LL SEE THIS YEAR OUR LOW INCOME PERCENTAGE FOR THE DISTRICT IS 4.29%.
THE TWO CAMPUSES WITH THE HIGHEST ARE VALLEY VIEW AND CEDAR CREEK.
BOTH WESTRIDGE AND EANES ARE ABOVE THE DISTRICT LEVEL, BUT AGAIN, BECAUSE WE ONLY ALLOCATE MONEY FOR THE TWO HIGHEST ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, THOSE ARE THE ONES WE'VE SELECTED, AND THE REASON WE DO THAT AND ONLY PICK THOSE TWO IS BECAUSE IF YOU LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF MONEY, IT'S NOT A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY.
SO IF YOU START DIVIDING THAT BY 4 OR 6, THEN IT REALLY IT DOESN'T REALLY GO VERY FAR, AND SO AGAIN, OUR FUNDING PROPOSAL IS TO FUND ADDITIONAL STAFF AT THOSE TWO CAMPUSES.
OUR PART TWO, OR TITLE TWO PART A FUNDS THAT'S REALLY MORE AROUND CAMPUS LEADERSHIP AND TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS, AND SO WE USUALLY ON THAT FUND A PORTION OF EVERY EDUCATIONAL PARTNER AT OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, AND SO THAT REALLY IS THOSE EDUCATIONAL PARTNERS ARE A HUGE BENEFIT TO THE TEACHERS, AND SO WE FIND THAT TO BE A REALLY GREAT VALUE AND A GOOD USE OF THOSE FUNDS.
IN TERMS OF OUR PART THREE, OUR TITLE THREE, SORRY, PART A FUNDS, THOSE ARE FOR OUR EMERGENT BILINGUAL STUDENTS AND WE USE THOSE FUNDS FOR SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMING FOR OUR STUDENTS RECEIVING ESL SERVICES, AND SO USUALLY THAT MONEY PAYS FOR SOME SALARIES, TRANSPORTATION AND MATERIALS AND AGAIN, YOU CAN SEE THE $21,000 DOESN'T GO VERY FAR FOR OUR EMERGENT BILINGUAL STUDENTS , AND THEN THE LAST ESSER FUND IS OUR TITLE FOUR PART A FUNDS, AND THERE'S FOUR DIFFERENT CATEGORIES YOU CAN USE THIS FOR, AND BUT IT'S REALLY LOOKING AT A WELL ROUNDED EDUCATION. WE'VE PREVIOUSLY FUNDED OUR BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION PROGRAMS. WE'VE USED EMERGENT TREE.
SO AGAIN, AND THIS WOULD BE SOMETHING THAT WE WOULD USE DISTRICTWIDE FOR KIND OF JUST LOOKING AT THOSE STUDENTS, AND YOU CAN USE IT AGAIN FOR WELL-ROUNDED EDUCATION OR AROUND TECHNOLOGY, BUT WE LOOK AT MORE FOR STUDENT SUPPORTS WITH THIS PARTICULAR FUND.
THE NEXT FUNDING SOURCE IS OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION CONSOLIDATED GRANT, IDEA.
IN TERMS OF OUR PROPOSAL, USUALLY THE MAJORITY OF THIS MONEY GOES TO STAFF AND THEN WE DO HAVE A RESIDENTIAL SET ASIDE THAT WE HAVE TO PUT ASIDE. I TALKED TO YOU GUYS USUALLY ABOUT THAT EVERY YEAR.
SO PART OF THAT, THOSE FUNDS HAVE TO BE SET ASIDE FOR THAT.
WE ALSO SOMETIMES LOOK AT CONTRACTED SERVICES OR VERY SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT THAT WE NEED TO USE.
SO THAT'S REALLY HOW WE USE OUR FEDERAL FUNDS THAT WE GET FOR THAT.
WE GET A VERY SMALL AMOUNT FOR OUR PRESCHOOL AND THAT PAYS FOR THE PARTIAL SALARY OF ONE OF OUR ECSE TEACHERS EVERY YEAR, AND THAT'S OUR PROPOSAL AND THAT'S WHAT WE'VE DONE FOR THE LAST PROBABLY 20 YEARS OF HOW WE'VE USED THAT FUNDING.
THE NEXT CATEGORY FOR FUNDING IS OUR PERKINS.

IF SOMEBODY WERE TO ASK US, WE CAN SHOW THEM EXACTLY HOW WE SPENT THAT MONEY AND HOW WE TIED THAT BACK TO LEARNING LOSS, BUT YOU CAN SEE ALL OF THE DIFFERENT THINGS THAT WE'VE USED THE FUNDS ON IN THE PAST.

READING ACADEMIES BRINGING IN LESSON CASTS A LOT AROUND SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING.
THE STEM SCOPES WORK, A LOT OF THE STEM SCOPES MATERIALS, SO JUST A REALLY NICE FUNDING SOURCE TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A LITTLE EXTRA BOOST TO GET OUR KIDS THROUGH THAT HARD TIME OF COVID AND THEN ON TO THE OTHER SIDE, BUT THOSE FUNDS WILL END THIS SEPTEMBER.
JUST A REMINDER THAT IN ALL OF OUR FUNDING, WE DO HAVE TO HAVE A PROCESS BY WHICH OUR PRIVATE SCHOOLS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR SOME OF OUR FUNDING, AND SO I WORK WITH OUR PRIVATE SCHOOLS, SEND OUT COMMUNICATION, HAVE MEETINGS, AND THE STUDENTS THAT ARE STUDENTS OF OUR DISTRICT THAT ATTEND PRIVATE SCHOOLS, BUT THEY HAVE TO MEET CERTAIN CRITERIA. THEN THOSE STUDENTS WOULD BE ELIGIBLE POSSIBLY FOR SOME OF OUR SERVICES.
THERE'S A PRETTY EXTENSIVE CONSULTATION PROCESS THAT GOES ALONG BEFORE THAT WOULD HAPPEN , BUT WE DO REACH OUT EVERY YEAR TO ALL OF OUR PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AND IF THEY'RE WATCHING, THEY KNOW THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO REACH OUT TO ME FOR THAT.

AS YOU KNOW, THERE ARE THREE SEPARATE BUDGETS YOU HAVE TO ADOPT TONIGHT.
THE GENERAL FUND, WHICH IS GENERALLY WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WHENEVER WE TALK ABOUT THE BUDGET AND WE HAVE ALL THESE MEETINGS, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE GENERAL FUND, BUT THERE ARE TWO OTHER ONES THAT WE'RE ALSO GOING TO ADOPT TONIGHT, AND THAT IS A DEBT SERVICE FUND AND THE CHILD NUTRITION FUND.
SO LET'S TALK ABOUT THE GENERAL FUND FIRST.
SO HERE ARE THE ASSUMPTIONS THAT WE'VE BASED THIS BUDGET ON.

JUST FYI JEREMY WILL PRESENT IN A LITTLE WHILE AND THAT'S PROBABLY A LITTLE LOW.SO BUT AS YOU KNOW, THE BUDGET HAS TO BE FINISHED A GOOD TIME BEFORE WE ACTUALLY PRESENT IT FOR YOUR REVIEW, AND SO 7500 WAS THE NUMBER WE WENT WITH, AND SO THE FINAL PRODUCT WILL PROBABLY THAT'S NOT GOING TO REFLECT TONIGHT, BUT WE ANTICIPATE THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE BETTER THAN 7500 KIDS.
AGAIN, THAT'S BASED ON THE APRIL ESTIMATE.

IT SEEMS PRETTY SAFE, AND IN FACT, MOST MOST OF WHAT I'M HEARING NOW IS THAT WE SHOULD PROBABLY ANTICIPATE TWO MORE INCREASES OF MAYBE 50 BASIS POINTS TOTAL BY THE END OF THIS THIS CURRENT YEAR, 2023.
AT THAT TIME, I THINK THEY'LL PROBABLY FREEZE FOR A WHILE, AND SO I FEEL REALLY GOOD ABOUT THIS, AND IN FACT, IF THAT'S THE CASE, THEN THE NUMBERS THAT I'VE PRESENTED TO YOU ARE PROBABLY A LITTLE LOW ON THE REVENUE SIDE .
SO AS YOU KNOW, THERE'S A PROCESS BY WHICH TAXES OR TAX RATES GET COMPRESSED EACH YEAR, DEPENDING ON THE GROWTH OF THE TAX BASE.
SO UNDER THE SCHOOL FINANCE LAW AS IT EXISTS TODAY ON JUNE 20TH, I ANTICIPATE THAT WE WOULD HAVE A TAX RATE OF ABOUT 87.4 CENTS AND SO ON THE M&O SIDE, AND SO THAT HAS A LITTLE BIT OF WIGGLE ROOM, AND ACTUALLY THAT WILL COME TO US FROM TEA ONCE THOSE CERTIFIED VALUES COME IN.
HOWEVER, AS YOU'RE PROBABLY WELL AWARE, THE GOVERNOR HAS MADE THIS A PRIORITY, AND SO I SUSPECT THAT THE CURRENT LAW WON'T BE THE CURRENT LAW BY THE TIME YOU ADOPT THE TAX RATE IN AUGUST AND IF THAT'S THE CASE, THEN THAT NUMBER IS ALMOST CERTAINLY GOING TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN $0.87 ON THE M&O SIDE.
SO I FEEL LIKE WE CAN NAIL THIS ONE TO THE WALL.
CHRIS, REAL QUICK, YOU'RE NOT ASSUMING ANY CHANGE IN THE BASIC ALLOTMENT AT THIS POINT? NO. OKAY.
WELL, WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING PASSED.
SOMEWHERE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF ABOUT $180,000 MORE IN POTENTIAL REVENUE BASED ON ON LEGISLATION THAT DID PASS, AND IT IS GOING TO GO INTO EFFECT , BUT THAT'S ALL THAT WE KNOW OF SO FAR, AND THAT'S ALL WE'RE COUNTING ON.
SO HERE IT SHOWS OUR HISTORICAL TAX RATE, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE CONTINUED TO LOWER OUR TOTAL TAX RATE ON BOTH THE M&O AND THE I&S SIDE, AND SO I THINK THAT'S ADMIRABLE THAT YOU AS A BOARD HAVE HAVE REALLY WORKED TOWARDS LOWERING THAT EANES RATE WHEN YOU'VE HAD THE ABILITY TO AND WE'RE AT $0.12 NOW.
SO HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT ON THE GENERAL FUND IS A DEFICIT.
AGAIN, THIS IS A BUDGETED DEFICIT OF ABOUT $1.9 MILLION.
AMONG THOSE ARE A COUPLE OF THOSE THINGS THAT WENT INTO EFFECT FROM THE LEGISLATURE, WHICH WOULD LOWER THAT TO ABOUT $1.7 MILLION, AND I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT A COUPLE OF THINGS ON HERE, HOW IT SWUNG FROM LAST YEAR JUST TO KEEP IT IN YOUR MIND, WHAT WHAT HAS

CHANGED? AND I'VE GOT A LITTLE LIST HERE.SO ONE OF THE BIG THINGS, OF COURSE, IS THAT YOU'VE DECIDED TO CREATE A DISTRICT POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THAT INCREASE OUR EXPENDITURES BY ABOUT $700,000. WE HAD A NUMBER OF MOVEMENTS IN WHERE WE'RE ALLOCATING OUR OTHER PERSONNEL.
SO IT'S ROUGHLY FLAT, BUT WE HAVE INCREASED IN CERTAIN AREAS, EVEN AS WE'VE REDUCED IN OTHER AREAS, AND ONE OF THOSE AREAS WE'VE INCREASED IN IS SCHOOL BASED THERAPISTS, AND SO THAT'S A DECISION THAT YOU GUYS MADE AND THAT'S INCORPORATED INTO THIS AS WELL.
OF COURSE, ONE OF THE BIG MOVERS OF THE BUDGET IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE WHAT IS THE CHANGE IN THE COMPENSATION AND 5% WAS PRETTY SIGNIFICANT, OBVIOUSLY AND SO WE SAW A BIG MOVEMENT THERE AND IN THE POSITIVE DIRECTION THAT BASICALLY TOOK SOME EXPENSES AWAY.
OF COURSE, THE BOND PASSED AND WE WERE ABLE TO REMOVE ABOUT $2.2 MILLION IN EXPENDITURES THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THIS YEAR'S GENERAL FUND BUDGET HAD THAT NOT PASSED, BUT BECAUSE IT DID, WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE THEM OUT ON THE REVENUE SIDE.
THE BIG DRIVER IS THIS CURRENT YEAR THAT WE'RE IN RIGHT NOW.
WE HAD ENROLLMENT OF 7731 STUDENTS ON THE SNAPSHOT DATE THIS YEAR.
THIS BUDGET IS BASED ON 7500, WHICH IS A DIFFERENCE OF IF I CAN SUBTRACT THAT 231 KIDS, WHICH REPRESENTS ABOUT $1.6 MILLION.

OBVIOUSLY, YOU SEE THE DEMOGRAPHER, BUT ALSO WHEN YOU HAVE TWO SECTIONS, YOU COULD GET AN INFLUX OF RESIDENT STUDENTS THAT COULD REALLY PUSH YOU OVER REALLY QUICK AND WE DON'T WANT TO GO OVER THAT 22 [INAUDIBLE], AND WE HAVE ACTUALLY DONE MULTIPLE REVIEWS WITH CAMPUSES ON MANY, BUT UNDERSTAND THAT SOME KINDERGARTNERS HAVE SIBLINGS THAT ARE COMING THAT NEED, AND SO THERE'S A LOT OF VARIABLES THAT COME IN THERE.
CAN'T SAY NO, THAT THERE'S NO OPPORTUNITY, BUT RIGHT NOW WE'VE REVIEWED THOSE THAT HAVE APPLIED, AND THIS IS KIND OF WHERE WE SIT RIGHT NOW, BUT UNDERSTANDING THAT WE. I WOULD ASSUME WE'D SEE SOME KINDER ENROLLEES OVER THE SUMMER. SO THIS NUMBER, I WOULD HOPE, WOULD CHANGE AT THAT AT THAT TIME.

THAT'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND I THINK IT'S JUST SOMETHING WE REALLY NEED TO KEEP AN EYE ON SO THAT WE DON'T END UP WITH INEQUITIES BETWEEN OUR SCHOOLS.

NONETHELESS, WE HAVE ALREADY ALLOCATED AN AIDE FOR THAT CLASSROOM, AND SO THERE WILL BE SOME ADDITIONAL SUPPORT IN THAT ROOM WITH THOSE 29 STUDENTS. THE CONSTRAINT IS THAT GIVEN OUR EFFORT TO TRY TO EVENTUALLY REMOVE ALL OF THE PORTABLES ON THAT CAMPUS. WE HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO ADD A SECTION WITHOUT DISPLACING A SPECIAL ED CLASSROOM, AND WE'RE ALSO RELUCTANT TO DO THAT, BUT THERE IS SPACE IF WE UTILIZE THE PORTABLE BUILDINGS. I MEAN, WE'VE HAD MORE SECTIONS ON THIS CAMPUS.
IN THE PAST, AND I UNDERSTAND THAT REDUCING THE NUMBER OF PORTABLE BUILDINGS OR WHATEVER WE CALL THEM THESE DAYS HAS BEEN A LONG TERM GOAL.
